Civil Engineer

Position Summary

The company has career opportunity for a motivated Civil Engineer with experience in the design of roadway and highway projects. Under limited supervision of senior engineers, this engineer will perform various engineering assignments using standard techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and conducting tasks requiring independent judgment in the evaluation.
  • Determine requirements and develop designs, details, specifications and make recommendations.
  • Ensure that production of calculations and deliverables meet scope, schedule and cost.
  • Perform independent assignments as well as work as a part of a multi-discipline project team.
  • Participate in major segments of large projects.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate and oversee the work of lower-level engineers and CADD staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in roadway/highway design
  • Professional registration as an Engineering Intern (EI) Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred
  • Fully competent in all conventional aspects of roadway engineering
  • Proven knowledge of AASHTO and FHWA design standards and demonstrating creativity, foresight and engineering judgment in the use of those standards.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple project and task assignments.
  • Selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Direct experience with the Federal Highway Administration/Federal Lands Highway Division and designing using Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS) is preferred.

Senior Civil Design Engineer

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the senior civil design engineer for water resources and environmental, projects for clients who may include U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, USDA-NRCS, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Counties, and Municipalities in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Understand and possess ability to communicate civil design and construction aspects of water resources and environmental projects to other staff, subcontractors and clients.
  • Possess strong skills in developing plans, specifications and cost estimates for water resources and environmental projects.
  • Establish strong, productive internal collaborative relationships.
  • Demonstrate leadership and teamwork skills in a multi-disciplinary environment with hydraulic engineers, water resource engineers and environmental scientists.
  • Supervise and mentor project engineers and staff in the successful delivery of design products at the conceptual, feasibility and final design level.
  • Participate in business development activities including the identification of opportunities, proposal preparation, presentations, contract negotiations, amendments, change notices, and contract claims.
Requirements
  • BS degree in civil engineering + 15 years professional experience or MS in civil engineering + 10 years of experience.
  • Professional Engineer certification required.
  • Experience with
    • Civil design related work for federal, state and local agencies
    • Experience with preparation of design drawings, specifications, cost estimates comprehensive design reports.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The skills and desire to contribute to business development efforts.
  • Must have working knowledge of
    • Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
    • Project management systems, project scheduling, scoping, budgeting, cost analyses, resource analyses, and reporting.

Environmental Engineer

Responsibilities
  • Performs complex engineering tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.
  • Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
  • Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
  • Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
  • Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
  • Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
  • Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
  • Required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
Requirements
  • BS degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering and 5-10 years of environmental engineering projects. MS preferred.
  • Professional Engineer registration preferred.
  • Experience should include investigation and remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater sites.
  • Knowledge and experience with RCRA, CERCLA and/or Brownfield sites, including participation on CMS and/or FS projects.
  • Evaluation, design, implementation and construction management of remedial alternatives, including application of "green remediation" technologies is highly desirable.
  • Experience with fractured bedrock groundwater investigation and remediation a big plus.
  • Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages associated with engineering.

Senior Environmental Engineer

Senior Environmental Professional with 10 or more years of experience in the development and management of large industrial accounts.

Responsibilities
  • The successful candidates will leverage their existing business relationships while developing new ones to establish business and consulting opportunities
  • Within 12 months of hire, bring in >$100K of labor revenue and sustain >$500k/year thereafter
  • Manage a team of 4 to 6 other engineers in multiple offices
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • 8 to 15 years of experience in multiple remedial technologies, remedial system construction and operation and maintenance.
  • Professional Registration in Engineering required.
  • MUST have an entrepreneurial spirit with an interest and demonstrated track record in business development and account management.
